ABOUT HONEYBEE ART STUDIOS. My passion lies in connecting art history principles to tangible projects, and further linking art lessons with classroom units. Through step-by-step, sequential instruction, I incorporate a variety of mediums, styles and techniques to classes. Students develop not only a set of technical art skills and art basics, but also experience real problem-solving strategies, learn patience and attentive listening skills. I delicately work through emotional and confidence struggles and have established creative solutions for students with motor skills challenges and special needs. It is always a treat getting to connect and work along with school staff and family volunteers on larger art projects. I set clear and firm classroom and material-use expectations with consistent classroom management that utilizes the Love and Logic approach. My goal is to build not only solid art foundation, but establish a growth-mindset. This essential skill will help students face and navigate future challenges with ease and success. Having a naturally positive attitude, it is easy to offer supportive encouragement and praise to push students to create thoughtful masterpieces they are proud of, and that loved ones will delightfully hang on their walls for years to come.
